Angry Orchard
Grade: 78 C+
Angry Orchard’s Strawberry cider has a strawberry blond color. The nose smells a little artificial and over the top but there are some clear cider notes as well. Yeah. Okay. Fine. The mouthfeel on this is pretty smooth. Is this drinkable? Yes. Do I like it? Not exactly. Maybe this stems from my childhood as I always felt strawberry soda was on the bottom of the flavored-soda hierarchy. (Orange was king, right?) It starts off well, like a nice semi-sweet cider, and then in the second phase and finish that artificial strawberry flavor really builds. It appears they used real strawberries and maybe this is just wat strawberry juice tastes like fermented, but maybe that is also why they don’t see many people selling strawberry juice? Maybe there is a market for this—does strawberry seltzer sell? I don’t know. This is smooth and fruity but not something I’d buy again.
Angry Orchard Strawberry Hard Cider has the crisp, fresh apple flavor you expect from Angry Orchard, combined with the ripe, vibrant flavors from strawberries. Angry Orchard Strawberry is balanced, slightly sweet, juicy and has a refreshing finish!
