This dark salmon-colored cider has interesting earthy notes that are mildly acidic with hints of cucumber. There are some fresh sweet cherry notes around the edges as well. Curious, that one. The most prominent flavor I get is still cucumber. The draw is normal. Like many other ciders it has a nice, fairly sharp, bite with a medium amount of carbonation. But in the middle phase the only acidity I get comes from that vegetable cucumber flavor. There is a bit of sweetness from the cherries dancing around the edges of the palate. But it is a very light and whimsical cherry flavor, and not the deep rich succulent flavor I think of when I think of black cherries. It’s not bad but it did not meet expectations as this seemed to promise dark and rich and I got light and garden-like. Curious that.
